Dear Fred,

You could just point out in an exasperated tone that *everybody knows* 
it's unprofessional to include spaces in filenames.  Tell him to Google 
it, and what he'll see is literally *thousands* of discussion threads 
about problems it's caused in various apps and operating systems.  What 
does he want, a list of all the things his practice could break?  
Surely you have more important things to do with your time.

The practice can potentially cause all sorts of problems, and has no 
obvious benefits, so why is he fighting you on this?  Maybe he would be 
better served by focusing his creativity in other areas.
