Hi all, Since yesterday we get referers from websites that actually don't refer to our domain. Requests are made by the hour, at 38 minutes past each hour. The websites are hosted under divers domains: (please remove the # as I wont give them the pleasure of providing working hyperlinks) http://cow.oxso#.net/ http://continue.oxso#.net/ http://conter.blackdaddy#.net/ http://cooro.freewebpage#.org/ 404's are directed to http://free-web-host#.net/FAQ.html or http://www.freewebpage#.org/docs/errors/404.htm These sites have the common feature that there are many hyperlinks to documents in the webroot, these hyperlinks seem to be random. Texts on these pages appear elsewehere on the internet. E.g. : http://continue.oxso#.net/saitpd.html and http://www.google.com/search?q=%22the+bite+of+the+Tarantula+may+not+provoke%22 Or http://continue.oxso#.net/saitpd.html and http://www.google.com/search?q=%22Must+we+take+these+queer+things+seriously+or+laugh+at+them%22 So my questions are: - Does anyone else find referers like these? - Why would anybody take the trouble operating those websites? - How come requests originate from those websites without hyperlinks to the requested website?
