[thelist] Limewire - know anything about them?

Greetings,

My son and his friends have come across some file sharing program that his 
friends are using for sharing music.....little red flags go up in my mind 
when I hear this so I thought I would ask this lovely community if anyone 
knows anything - good or bad - about this.  Is it trustworthy?  How can I 
find out if it is safe to use on my computer....?
