[thelist] transfer of massive files

Hi all

I'm trying to put together some costs for an asset management system
(a tool that enables users to log in and download a variety of digital
assets e.g. high res images, logos, video etc)

Some of the assets will be extremely large (quite possibly over 1gb).
What's the general consensus on viability for such a project? Does
anyone have experience of finding a hosting solution for such large
amounts data transfer? If so, what sort of ballpark costs are we
talking about?

Any thoughts / experience gratefully received.
