[thelist] mysql dump/export

Here is how I deal with the export issues:

I create a large SQL file which creates table and other db meta data, 
and inserts.  (ermm I think what I use is MySQL Turbo Manager but not
sure it has been some time since I haven't worked with mySQL).

Then I run the necessary parts of that script on the remote DB.
