ok... i appreciate that feedback...

is it possible to speed up the rendering of the menus? right now the 
menus seem to add a couple seconds or more to the page rendering, and 
i'd love to find a way to reduce that...

or better yet, given your JS experience, can you recommend an 
appropriate way to benchmark the script so i can test its rendering 
time on assorted configurations?
