Hi Michael,


As a 'rule of thumb' I agree with you!  ;-)

However ... 'rules of thumb' generally cover, at best, 95% 
of the needs/cases/requirements.

I frequently find myself researching 'edge cases' (*) where 
I need more than 3Mb and more than 65k rows.  As a tool, ASP 
didn't meet my needs to quickly research those edge cases.  
I don't think dot net will do it either.

(*) These would probably be better characterized as 'data 
mining' or 'ad hoc pattern recognition/data investigation' 
examples than 'reports'.  My bad for inferring these as 
a more regular 'business application' kind of occurrence.
