[thelist] PHP and ASP.net/ My SQL and MS SQL

I have a question for the group.

I am pretty well versed in PHP and
MySQL. I am looking into a job that will be maintaining and updating
an extensive website which has a backend built with ASP.net with a MS
SQL database.  My questions are 1) is there a big difference between
PHP and ASP.net? I know that PHP and ASP are similar. Also, is there
much difference between MySQL and MS SQL?
