Go to an Apple Store (if you have one near you) and see if they have one
that you could check out. "Virtual PC" (an M$ product) is horribly slow
(unusable, even with tons of RAM), but that actually ran on top of OSX (and
it was made by M$). Basically, don't let anyone try to sell you that as a
viable option -- it's not.

However, I'm guessing this new dual-boot system is probably fine. Indeed,
first runs are always a bit risky, but my experience has been that Apple is
great about software/firmware upgrades.

All things considered I strongly recommend going the Mac route. I know
someone with one of the new Mac/Intel machines (a MacBookPro) and he's quite
happy (but not booting Windows).

Indeed, I'm a Mac person . Converted from Windows two years ago and have no
reason to look back (except when fixing/re-installing stuff on my in-laws'
Dell or my wife's PC).
