My point was simply that the nature of such discussions often does not
lend itself well to "proof". The reason behind a philosophy often has a
lot to do with hypotheticals, thought experiments, and subjective
estimation. Either you agree with the assessment, or you don't.

Ideally everyone would be excellent and gentle communicators, even when
making their strongest points. Given an instance when this is not the
case, the reader has the choice to take it or leave it. If the reader
"leaves it" for something unrelated to the philosophy (e.g., tone of the
email describing it), it's really just hurting the reader.
