Hi John -

We've used both Plone and Joomla! (the Mambo offshoot by the original 
developers) and find them both to be great platforms, but geared for 
different uses/levels of complexity. I just came across an article that 
did a comparison which you might find of use (rather than my trying to 
go through all of the differences between the two):
