[thelist] dvd grabber- recommendations?

I'm saving copies for future unpurchased techie-toys. And to preserve
against loss.
Another problem I have, two years ago, I purchased some dvds off ebay from
Canada. These are, I think, home-made videos that some garage-scientists
made to show what they have been working on.

The discs didn't work for me, and the seller replaced them 3 times. I
finally gave up. I think there are other formats in Canada. I would dearly
love to convert them!

Anyhow, I just purchased a 400gb external drive for my assorted media, I
will probably store them in both burnable and ipod-able format.

thanks
Laura
