If you're doing PHP development, you'd need to install the Eclipse PHP
plugin. With Quanta+ (in the kdewebdev package, btw) you get support for
PHP out of the box.

I've used Eclipse before, but it's a little sluggish due to being written
in Java, as compared to the natively compiled applications.
