Not sure "alternative stylesheet" is the correct rel attribute value:
http://www.alistapart.com/stories/alternate/

Not sure your bigger.css should be served as an alternative either if
you expect it to be applied by default.  Just serve it like another
stylesheet.  Hopefully there are no collisions between your colour
scheme and your typography stylesheets.
