For those of us who started the "web" back in the last part of the last 
century, that was the norm.  Of course, we didn't have CSS, nor fancy 
tools, ideas about templates, databases, versioning, etc.  Every page was 
hand-coded.  And many sites were not 10-page web sites, either.  Many were 
several thousand pages web sites, all hand-coded, held together with 
baling wire, chewing gum and duct tape.

You young whippersnappers have it easy today ...

Now get off  my lawn!  :)
