As Kate mentioned the limitations involve not being able to edit CSS unless you pay for an upgrade. You also cannot edit the PHP code and moving things around is difficult. Here is an article that covers all the limitations,

The cool thing about hosts like Network Solutions is that you can install WordPress with a single click. No configuring databases or setting up PHP. We have migrated multiple clients from Typepad and other platforms to WordPress.

eewww. Is there anywhere that describes these limitations in detail?

I'm not really eager to go the self-hosted route. Installing PHP and
all that implies just for this one app is not particularly appealing :-)
