Hi all,

I too was worried about the software (or lack of) but:

For web dev, I installed XAMPP, svn, Komodo Edit, filezilla and GIMP
(all free and fine for what I do)

For docs I installed OpenOffice. Been using it for years - it's fine for
what I need it for. If you're a corporate wo needs the whole "track
changes" and spreadsheets with 42 different formulas then

There's a surprising amount of stuff out there for Mac that you don't
have to pay for.

As well, the iLife suite is pretty good, especially iPhoto
