Yeah, you really don't want to be giving out a shared username/password. Better to have individually managed UIDs that can post to a central account, with that central account's credentials not visible to each user.

At some point, someone *is* going to screw up; removing access for a while until they're better able to conduct themselves may be necessary. 
Also, people do leave (dammit) and you'll want to revoke their access.
You want to be able to do that without disrupting anyone else.
