Apparently now the "pay for" is optional :-)   See https://taxcloud.net/

There's a Ruby gem (https://github.com/drewtempelmeyer/tax_cloud)
and integration with some stock carts (https://taxcloud.net/partners/).

And there's "Automatically files sellers' sales tax returns" listed as a
feature (for "streamlined states", ?wtf) which sounds interesting.

Haven't test-driven yet, so no implied endorsement but it certainly
seems worth investigating  :-)
