hi, Marlene! i'm here! i apologize for letting this stuff slip for so
long. I do still have the form(s) for yours and Elfur's signatures, and
promise to get it out to you in today's mail.

you just haven't been listening :-) j/k -- the account was in fact
opened, though i'll admit my "announcement" (buried as it was, in a
reply to martin on an unrelated subject) may have slipped in under your
radar:

there's no denying that i've been remiss in my duties so far, though,
and for that i do apologize. the account *is* opened, and active, and
as i mentioned, one check from Amazon was returned unpaid, as it had
*just* passed it's 90-day "Best when used by" date.

i've received a nice book of "temporary" desk checks, a shiny new
holographic Evolt.org VISA check card, and of course the signature card
(actually not a card but two forms) which require your and Elfur's
names, titles and signatures, and a notary seal, which i swear to send
before i sleep :-)

again i apologize for procrastinating. my recurring reason for not
posting for so long has been that i had wanted to send you and Elfur
links and logins to the account's web interface, but have been unable to
login to it myself. although i've gotten monthly statements, i've had
to request twice that their tech support folk reset my PIN #, which
means they had to snail mail me (twice) the *new* PIN, and each time, by
the time it arrived, i didn't have time to deal with it, and it sat in
my Evolt file until i got around to trying it, at which time it again
didn't work -- so i've been a bit confuzzled on the e-banking front.
which is odd, because my *own* business account login at the same bank
works fine... {sigh}.

in any case (excuses aside), now that i've settled into the new job, my
holiday travels are over and, most importantly, i've got my new IMAP
mail server re-tooled so that my spam is pre-filtered and all my
lists-mail is sorted server-side into hierarchical folders, i hope to be
keeping up better, following along much more closely, and participating
more fully around here from now on.

btw i see i'm on the steering list! i believe "woot! woot!" is the
proper response, this millenium, to convey my suprised happiness,
excitement and downright exuberance :-)

-dave
