[Javascript] RegExp

Hmm.  I can't get it to work.  Let me show you my code, if I may:

 function replaceText()
 {
  var strString;

  strString = myform.mytextarea.value;

  strString.replace(/\n/,'')

  alert(strString);

  myform.mytextarea.value = strString;
 }
</script>

Any ideas?
