[Javascript] *Simple* upload progress status???

Hi:

I've spent a couple of days now looking at all sorts of upload 
progress bar solutions -- there's a bunch out there. But they all 
have their down sides (i.e., cost, if they work or not, additional 
libraries needed, complexity, browser limitations, and so on).

Does anyone have a *simple* one to recommend?

Just something that will monitor the uploaded file progress and 
report back at a timed interval -- even if it's just "Byte xx of yy 
Bytes" would be great (if not preferable)!
