Tim explained that the 'exit' command isn't a reserved word, but it obviously
works on some computers, but not all. What is the difference? Whuy work on some,
but not others?</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I should also point out that I've only just started
my learning curve, and have only reached chapter 5 in John Smiley's book, LTP
With JavaScript and don't have any other electronic (.PDF) books to read from.
Any other books in the (.pdf) format available on the Internet would be helpful
books of reference.</FONT></DIV>

Setup</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hello All, </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I'm new to JavaScript and learnt of this groups
existence through Tim Lewis. Thank you Tim. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Tim has given me one solution to the 'exit'
command, (For which I thank you), but, I'm wondering if anyone else on the
list can illuminate a little more. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>When I'm running HTML files in the Internet
Explorer window, they seem to run without any problems, but when I run
JavaScript files in the Internet Explorer<BR>Window, a popup window
appears: </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>In order to protect your computer,
ETC. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>before the file runs. I'm assuming that that is
what happens on every computer in such circumstances,
Right? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>On the DeskTop computer upstairs, this occurs
each time a file is run for the first time but isn't repeated when IE is
refreshed. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>On the Laptop the popup window doesn't appear at
all, so, I don't get the inconvenience. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If I run any JavaScript program that has an
'exit' command line, which stops the program on the DeskTop, it functions as
it should without trouble. However,<BR>the 'exit' command is totally screwed
up, giving a run time error, telling me that 'exit' is undefined, on the
laptop. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Can you tell me if I should be changing any
setting in Internet Explorer to get the Laptop to acknowledge the 'exit'
command in the same way that the Desktop<BR>does? Or, is it due to the
architectural construction between a desktop and a
laptop? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Are there any settings in the Internet Explorer
that can illiminate the popup window in Internet Explorer on the
Desktop? </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>BTW. Both computers are using the updated IE
7. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Any enlightenment you can give, would be
great. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>All the best, </FONT></DIV>
