re personal donations --  i agree. i put in whatever i had in my paypal
account, but i think a better thing is going to be donation drives, or
something regularly deducted such as MEO payment/subscription as i've
mentioned before.

some sense of exclusive sponsors (with no influence other than that there
banner sites on our frontdoor) could work. if glasshaus were interested,
then we could chase that up. that said, a few of us (myself included) do
have an interest (hello royalties) in glasshaus selling more books.

an agreement with glasshaus, for example, should not stop us writing reviews
of competitors products, or reviewing their products more favourably. it's
something that i think everyone would agree with, but should fall under a
sponsorship policy regardless.


i've suggested before (and will do again), that if we consider the long-term
sponsorship opp, we should look for deals with sponsors in a few primary
categories: publisher (glasshaus?), hosting company, software company
(macromedia?), training provider?
