We moved to Linux/Oracle/CF4.5 on Feb 28, 2000, see:
http://evolt.org/article/Our_New_Home/1/1223/index.html
running at Oracular.
Going through some of my old admin mail, on May 30, 2000, Jeff sent an
e-mail saying that all of the pages on the evolt.org sites as well as
the Oracular sites were returning a 'CF4.5 Evaluation Expired'
message. On the same day, Dan replied that all of the CF servers were
accessed from one box with NFS and that his intent was to install the
'real' version of CF and remove the release candidate. By mistake, he
removed the wrong one. So, technically we switched from the eval on
May 30, 2000.
I would suspect that we moved to eo specific boxes around Jun 2001.
October 18, 2001 we moved to CF5.
I didn't find anything to suggest that we continually ran into the CF
license expiring which required Dan to do 'something' on the server.
It sounds like we had 'real' licenses, when available, throughout the
time we were running on CF.
