In the last few days, we (eouk) have thrown together this demo:

To log in, use u/n jothemember and pw 'password', or give me a shout and
I'll set up your login.

The front end is 100% templated, and is built with the presentation
layer separate from the logic and the data layers. The templates are
slot-based, and the templating is simple enough to pick up in a day or
so for any half-serious evolter.
