Because 5-6 weeks represents what I don't think
I'd be understating to call a capital-C Crisis...

Proposal #2:
We ask thelist membership explicitly for donations
to a targeted appeal of $3000 (being the sum of
2x the eouk-class boxen plus a few hundred for
sundries tbc).

Proposal #3:
That we take that campaign seriously and consider
temporarily replacing the weo front door with an
appeal message.  If for no other reason that it may
cause our 'plight' to be externally linked, which in
turn may give us a chance of beating target well
enough to not have to do it again for a while...
