Softlayer now, but yeah -- if stopping crashplan from restarting doesn't 
help (which i just did)

root at tron:~# /etc/init.d/crashplan stop
Stopping CrashPlan Engine ... Still running, killing PID=5090 ...
OK

root at tron:~# find /etc/rc* | grep crashplan
/etc/rc2.d/S99crashplan

root at tron:~#  update-rc.d -f crashplan remove
  Removing any system startup links for /etc/init.d/crashplan ...
    /etc/rc2.d/S99crashplan
root at tron:~# find /etc/rc* | grep crashplan

Let's see if that helps.
