No, you're reading the entry for "moot". Look carefully. (Not your fault, 
your eyes weren't trying to look for the word.)

You need to see the transitive verb meaning of the noun "moot", since the 
it was used as a verb, not as an adjective ("It was *mooted*).

What you're looking for is between the noun and adjective meanings on the 
dictionary.com page ;)
