[Theforum] Changes to the VotingReqs document

Hi Elfur,

Sorry to come in kinda late on this -- [and I'm against it] -- but I'm
wondering if anyone has considered any potential 'legal' or 'regulatory'
issues with anonymous voting?

I suspect that if we ever get NFP status and/or apply for industry or
government grants that this kind of thing would be strictly verboten ...
given various "sunshine" laws and the like here in the U.S.

(It's been many years since I looked at it ... but if I remember
correctly, the most widely used parliamentary procedures, (Jeffersonian
[U.S. Congress], Robert's [industry and private], United Nations) each
make the allowance for any voting member to call for a "roll call" vote
- where each and every member's individual vote is publicly recorded.)

this way you can have the 'normal' design with the exception that we do
allow for totally anonymous voting when the need rises.
