i don't either, though i take offense to the part about not posting opinion
or tangent threads. that's censorship straight up. we've disagreed on this
in the past and i'm not going to change my mind. if i feel i have something
to add by asking questions about "why" then i'll do that. maybe the person
asking the question doesn't learn anything from it, but maybe someone else
will. i don't post my opinion or tangent thread to hear myself talk. in
fact, i'm not involved with thelist in any capacity designed to benefit
myself. i'm involved because i want to help make everyone else better at
what they do in whatever way i can. part of that way is getting people to
think in ways they may not be accustomed to.

fwiw, that was the whole point of my involvement in the flash thread. imho,
i think i handled that one very professionally. if anybody disagrees with
me, email me offlist with something that supports your opinion. i welcome
any opportunity to improve my communication style while still maintaining a
necessary level of honesty.

+1,000,000

[admin] is for day to day administration. saying it's just for article
editing/approval and email answering is rather narrow-sighted.

[theforum] is for direction, which imho has little to do with the day to day
stuff in the here and now. this list can discuss how things should be
handled which will drive how [admin] treats the day to day stuff in the
future.
