[Theforum] IRC discussion -- structure?

+1 what Amanda said.

I think it would be very useful to have some business-related IRC
discussion. Possibly with a revolving schedule that takes various
time zones into consideration... and... even an archiving of the
results?

Like, for each discussion, a person can volunteer to be secretary,
save the discussion, archive at a central location.

That may be over-structured, but anyway, it's a thought.

We have *not ever* tried to hold meetings of this sort. (Informal
evolt.org business discussions on IRC.) I don't think we should
knock it until we try it.

Actual voting (when needed) can and should be done elsewhere.

We may (or may not) develop some kind of protocol for IRC discussion.

We may wish to throw stuff at the wall.
Something may stick.

Just a thought.

(I too hate endless winding email never-ending discussion that keeps
going forever and then gets dropped and then gets picked up and then
morphs into something semi-related and then goes on and on and then
becomes conflict and then gets takes another direction and then gets
dropped and then gets picked up again and taken in yet another
direction...)
