interesting suggestion Morgan.

There's a choice here - do we want meo to be purely self-funding, or do
we want it to support other things?
(actually, there's a third way - meo income's first priority is to self
fund (and will maybe need subsidising until that happens), and will fund
other evolt services when its numbers grow)

The self-funding option will mean that as more people are added, the
cost goes down (possibly from a high starting point). This has a couple
of problems:
1) It's going to be a nightmare to administrate
2) Marketing 101 says that people like fixed prices (as long as they're
not too high).
It may be possible to get round both these by presenting it as a fixed
price, setting that somewhat high, and giving a rebate at the end of the
year. Still sounds a bit of a PITA though.

The other 2 options will mean a nice simple fixed fee.

Charging $2.50 will still probably come down to $1 net after Paypal
charges etc.

I also think we won't get 850 paying members. Some will say "fuck dat
shit" (including probably *all* the freeloaders), and some just won't
get round to paying.

Cheers
