do i need to explain every little nuance to you?

first, the query is cached after the initial hit so subsequent hits to the database are eliminated, provided they're made within the timespan allocated to the cached query.  limit is problematic in that it requires a new query every page request and a significant alteration of the way the cms is written.  before you make a crack about it being written the wrong way, i'd like to reiterate that it's written the way it is on purpose because it's the best solution to the problem.  fwiw, querying for 800 records should be cake and should *not* be the issue here.
