[Theforum] Closing the contentarchive

Hello all,

As a group, the content team has decided to close contentarchive by
password protecting it. This change is necessitated by the number of
requests to remove postings in the archive by people who submit, in
their minds, private correspondence to the content list versus the
need to keep an unmodified history record of the content list.

For those interested in history, the original admin list was opened
because there was a mix of administrative, community direction
setting, and off-topic banter in that list that was not accessible to
the community as a whole. Most, if not all, of that discussion has
moved into the appropriate lists (theforum, thechat) which remain open
and only administrative tasks are dealt with in the content list. So
hopefully this move is not seen as moving to a less open model for the
community or a step backward.

If there are any concerns or questions, please feel free to raise them
here.

Thanks,
Dean
