so, my mom is studying web design/tech at summer 
school. (cute, yes.) 

but, she's exceptionally frustrated today, because 
she accidently deleted all her files from her zip 
disk (which is the final assignment, due today).

someone at the lab was able to recover the raw data 
from the zip, (which i now possess), but it's all raw 
memory data. it still has the right filenames, and 
extensions, (htm, gif), but when i open the files, 
it's all boxes and rectangles and random characters.

i was hoping someone would know of a strategy for 
translating this back into something useful?

ps: it was really funny trying to talk about this on 
the phone with her, because we share almost zero 
common language. her "sitemap" ended up being the 
window's file explorer interface, for example. <grin>
