alt text is there to provide alternative content in text that has the
same meaning as the image.

headR-intro.png is missing any alt text what so ever (I belive it
should be alt="introduction", while mainPix-intro.jpg has been given
the alt="main picture". "main picture" does not convey the same
meaning as your graphic, as its decorative you should probably use
alt=" ". The results of rending the site in lynx (for bandwidth or
quality of eyesight reasons) results in:

The links under the cloud image do not look like links, I only
discovered what they were due to lynxs rendering of them! Also, you
have placed them in capital letters, this has the unfortunate effect
of being read out character by character on some clients. Try using
normal case and apply the following css:

a.menu {
  text-transform: uppercase;
}

You have declaired that your document is a specific version of HTML
(XHTML 1.0 Transitional), but you have not actually used that version:
