I became a dad yesterday..  On my birthday, no less!  What are the odds...?

8lb. 10oz. Adam came into the world at 5:25 on Wednesday morning..  I got to
watch the whole thing.  Ever since then I keep having all these new kinds of
thoughts and emotions..  I'll just be holding him looking at him and then
I'll think somehting like "One day some girl's gonna break his heart". Or I
think that this is the only time he's going to be this tiny and helpless,
and how much he needs me now, but someday I'll be needing him just as much.

And I just can't stop staring at his sweet little face..

And words that people use to describe their kids that I previously
despised - "precious", "bundle-of-joy" - they all make sense now, too.  Even
worse - I find myself using them.

Must be the "dad bug" that Sam mentioned..
