No offense personally, but I hate when people refer to science as a
religion...

No.
Science is the study of things around us. No one worships science
itself. Science is a tool. Science is a method. Scientist 1 can
conclude the universe originated from a large explosion and Scientist
2 can conclude that time is circular and therefore there was no
origin. These are pretty different beliefs, no? Yet they are both
scientists. IMO, calling science a religion is like calling a
carpenter a hammer.
