Meant to say, but forgot - Erika's list of options (excluding the
online ones) were pretty effective at ending the Vietnam war.

Not least the acoustic guitars one - there's a great tradition of
the political song, and it's been very effective down the years.
Look at national anthems for an example...

Which acts of violence against a civilian population do you mean? Those
of whoever was behind last Tuesday's attacks, or the urge to carpet
bomb Afghanistan..?
