<snip>
The Jewish people originated in Iran, and did not arrive in Palestine
until the time of Joshua, about 1230 BC. That's not "over 4000 years".
</snip>

Gee, saying over 3230 years is SOOO much less than saying over 4000 years,
isn't it??? The are over a million Arab Israeli citizens, that's 20% of the
population and they have all of the same rights and privileges as Jews.
While Hebrew is the official language, Arabic is officially used for the
Arab minority, and you say they aren't inclusive!?!? Again, why should
people who VOLUNTARILY left their land to back the losing side in a war get
their land back?

<snip>
And they haven't lived there *continuously* - in the
late 19th century, there were only about 25,000 Jews in Palestine.
</snip>
So you are saying that 25000 Jews don't count? At what number do they count?
Whether a million or a thousand, they HAVE been there continuously...

<snip>
Moreover, it would have been hard for Muslims to invade *anything*
much before the 600s, as Mohammed wasn't born until 570 AD.
</snip>
That was my point...

<snip>
Modern Palestinians are the descendents of the Canaanite and
Philistine tribes the originally inhabited Palestine.
</snip>
Through interbreeding with the Arab invaders from the south, they ARE Arabs
and therefore must have more Arab blood than the others...

<snip>
The people whose families have
lived there for a hundred generations want to have it - and that
seems reasonable.
</snip>
The same can be said of (hundreds of?) millions of people who have been
forced off their land or had it incorporated into a new country in the last
hundred years or so... I currently live on land that was probably controlled
by the Cherokee for generations, by your flaccid reasoning I should give it
back to them...

<snip>
In 1880, the population of Palestine was less than 5% Jewish.
Even now, almost half of all Israeli jews are immigrants. Why
move *there*, when there are plenty of places that would welcome
them?
</snip>
Because they think of this land as the "Promised Land" that was given to
them by their god, seems a pretty powerful lure...

Thanks,
Ron White
