[thechat] Red Hat keeps locking

Hello Linux guru's

I was under the impression that Linux was a very stable OS. However, my
install keeps locking. I will be working along nice and happy and then
all of a sudden the entire machine simply locks. And I have to hit the
reset key on the case.

So, I realize this is a little vague, but any suggestions? Below are the
specs:

Red Hat 7.2
Ximian gnome desktop
Lots of ram
Fast processor

Any thoughts would be great.
