its supposed to be able to run on KDE, yes.

I never tried it from cooker, but when I tried it with the RPM's from 
ximian, I was totally in dependancy hell. evolution is built upon a 
couple lib's that are still in beta and for a time were releasing new 
betas multiple times a day.

the easiest way to use evolution, IMO, is to just use gnome :)
