Hi Erika,

(Whew!)

I'm really glad to hear that you and Jeff got to attend the Portland
session. I was wondering if any of the folks I referred got in. That
makes my week! Kewl!!

Yeah - I share your feelings with the 'broad lump' categorization ...
during a break I walked over into the 'Network Operations' session and
told them that "we" 'Internet' folks were dumping DNS, BIND, and all the
site registration, server/pipe sizing and related issues over in their
lap -- so they better cover it. ... but they were okay with that.

Yeah - what Labor comes up with has to be better than what they have ...
especially with evolters taking a personal hand in it! ;-)

Thanks to Ron's heads-up, Jeff Howden (aka .jeff) & I were both able
to participate in the Portland focus groups.

Here's what I found difficult. We were asked to define skill sets
for jobs in "Internet Operations and Maintenance." We were told that
this was to include everything from telecommunications to web
design...

We rebelled at that broad lump.
