Hi Kev,

I'm paranoid too! ;-)

Not only do I turn my home machines off when I'm not around ... I pull
the dang power cords out of the wall too! [machines = Computers,
stereos, guitar amps ... stuff I can't afford to easily replace!]

More from a fear of power spikes than sub7 attacks, though. The
electrical power is pretty "dirty" down here ... and I've got too many
friends who have lost computers and stereos and assorted other goodies
to power spikes.

OTOH - my fiancee used to keep her computer plugged in and running 24/7
- go figger! [Of course - she copped mine for the time being while she
rebuilds hers - so it's at least getting powered down - if not
unplugged.]

HTH,

RonL.
(Who [yeah - I know] should REALLY take the time to "fuse" his expensive
speakers and spring for some really decent power filter equipment for
the rest of his toys.)

1. Do most of you leave your machines on all the time? I am always
worried
that the damn thing is going to catch fire the moment I leave the house.
This paranoia is, I feel, justified because I built it myself, and have
no
faith in my own abilities. I have never heard of such a thing happening,
anybody got any horror stories they would like to share?
