[thechat] ATA drives for Mac?

So, what with having all my OS9 stuff and my OSX stuff on
my Mac, plus the fact that I use it as a SAMBA server for my
home network, the Mac's hard drive is getting a bit full; I only
have about 800MB left, and at the rate I take photos, that'll fill
quickly too (yeah, I know I can archive them off to CD, but
Lucy gets annoyed if she can't view the photos on the
shared drive).

So, I'm looking for an additional hard drive. I have ye olde
beige G3 tower config, which has ATA drives plus a floppy
(so I don't think http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58194
applies).

So the questions are:
1) Is it possible to have a second drive (the very thought of the
data migration involved in a drive swap brings me out in a
    cold sweat)
2) Would any old ATA drive work or is there a special 'mac configuration'
needed? I'm thinking along the lines of
     http://store.westerndigital.com/product.asp?sku=1638354
which should last until the end of the machine's useful life.

Cheers
Martin
