[thechat] Is it safe to assume Quebecois speak English?

Quebecois is definitely the term we use in French, as to what is used in
English, I wouldn't know..

The people you will meet in Quebec City, at least those that work in the
tourist industry, will definitely speak English, but do expect a huge
accent. Those you will meet "in the street" may not speak English at all.
Worse, depending on their ebriety status, you may even get insulted for not
knowing French. But that's worst case scenario. If you're obviously a
tourist, that will save you some problems. Mugging is almost nil, so being a
tourist is not a danger.

Quebec City is a lovely city, and one of the few places in North America
where you can feel you're far from home. Enjoy your stay
