[thechat] I Hate Windows!

One way this *can* happen is if something in IIS
(ftp, web, smtp) is configured to point to a directory
on a network share which got moved/renamed/deleted/
un-permissioned recently.

   but that didn't help.

I'm running Win2K Pro SP2. IIS and CF were installed recently but AFTER
this problem started. It *did* start happening about the time we switched
to a domain controller here in the office (but I didn't set it up and I'm
not in a position to debug that). The connection does act normally, so
that doesn't *seem* like that's it.

----------

So, basically, I'm about at my wits end on this one. My next step is to
play Russian Roulette with the services and just keep shutting them off
until 1) the problem is solved, 2) my internet connection dies, or 3) the
computer barfs and needs to restart. I'd like to avoid this, so does
anybody have any other suggestions? Pleeeease?

* the desperate one *

   Whatever it is, I'm sure that I was just about to get to it.
