No that's not what I meant at all. I was making a connection between some things that are going on at my daughter's school and the stuff that's going on with the Pledge. Literally, not figuratively, talking about party invitations and having the school step in to prevent children from getting their feelings hurt. Which teaches the kids that somehow, someone else will always be looking out for their feelings so they never have to have a bad one, which is NOT the way the world works. Sometimes, people need to just realize that every piece of the world was not made with them in mind and find a way to deal with it. The people fighting the Pledge have chosen, "getting a part of the Pledge declared unconstitutional" as their way of dealing with it, and I respect them for that because obviously they felt strongly enough about it to take action. Trying to connect the two issues is where I muddled my point. Fortunately, like the Constitution, my blog is a living document - LOL - and I'll try to make my point clearer.
