i concur. when napster hit big, fake content seemed like the natural
response. fight p2p with p2p, you know?

but the music biz is slow.

more interesting is the palladium strategy, which ms is gearing to sell
to the entertainment industry so that every piece of net traffic has to
be digitally signed. which means someone has to do the signing. and
microsoft would be happy to be there to sign that stuff.

like i have to tell this group to be cognizant of trends in the
computing business, but this really does bear watching. the intersection
of corporate computing, media/copyrights issues, digital distribution,
computer security, and personal freedom is damned interesting.
